“Blessings abound my child, sometimes a little hard to see.”

As the owners of an extensive movie collection; we decided to take a walk on the wild side and see what movie was streaming we hadn’t seen or didn’t own. You know, scrolling through a few different ones like Amazon Prime, Freedive, Tubi and Netflix?

We are always on the lookout for a good Christian film that is not on the Hollywood grid. And on Netflix we found one. A gold nugget in the streams of videos.

Based on the true story, Walk. Ride. Rodeo., is about an 18 year-old named Amberley Snyder; (Spencer Locke) who is a competing barrel racer with her eyes set on Rookie of the year. On her way to one of those competitions she is in a horrific accident. Her truck rolls over several times and tosses her against a fence post. At the scene of the accident she can’t feel her legs.

At the hospital doctors tell her she will never walk or ride again. How do you go from riding a horse to riding in a wheel chair? This emotional roller-coaster had Amberley going from shocked to denial, depressed, then finally determination.

Throughout the film you see each one of these emotions played out. The pinnacle is when she tells her mother (Missi Powell) “Sell my horses, I am done! If I can’t ride like I used to I never want to ride again. I should’ve died in that crash!” Her mother tells her, “Don’t say that! Don’t you dare say that. I thank God every day that you are here. It hurts me that I cannot fix this. And I know that everything is different. We just have to find a new way to live with this. This chair will either be your wings or it will be your anchor—You decide!”

From that point on Amb begins turning all of her negatives into positives. Even puts a seat-belt on a saddle. And remembers an anthem her physical therapist told her. “No matter what life gives you, give more back.”

The word of God says that all things are possible if you believe. She must’ve really believed because she began competing again and also became a motivational speaker.

Her advice is ” We don’t always choose what happens to us, but we do get to choose what we do next. Most important; never give up.”

This movie is an encourager and crosses all demographics. If this movie doesn’t pull you out of your pity party nothing will. This is an incredible film about an phenomenal girl who proves We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.

Again, not with mainstream critics. This too is a must see.
