With the current situation, many of us are shut in and shut up in an environment that was not considered permanent as in prison time. Turn the tables and look at this as a time for reflecting and healing not only yourself, but also relationships that have gone unchecked because of this microwavable society in which we live.
Many feel this situation so crucial you are thinking you’ll never get out. It has become so overwhelming that you feel like you were drowning in a sea of troubles. The darkness is darker than dark and there is no exit strategy or any place to run? You are fighting against depression with all you have.
What do you do when all of your circumstances are atop your head? And the weight on your shoulders has you feeling like Atlas—carrying the world and it’s problems?
Well, that was Jonah’s similar plight. He’d found himself in the belly of a big fish and needed to get out…
Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly, (Jonah 2:1-9)
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.
And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
All is not lost. The same God that spoke to the fish is the same God that can speak to whatever situation you are in to get you out. Just keep the faith no matter how it looks. He is still the God of the impossible. This too shall pass.
