Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. (2 Thessalonians 3:16 NKJV)
Thought for the Week: Christ is named the Lord of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) He walked in unbroken communion with the Father. This allowed Him the perfect submission of His will. Resignation is peace. The surrender of self-will is peace. Obedience is peace. Trust is peace, and fellowship with the divine is peace. So Christ has taught us in His life–’The Father hath not left Me alone, because I do always the things that please Him.’ And when we follow this example no matter how noisesome and unstable the circumstances around us God will keep us in perfect peace when our minds remain on Him, because we trust in Him. Peace with God “at all times and in every way;” whether it be outward or inward, for time or for eternity. The apostle could desire no higher blessing for his converts. “The Lord be with you all.”
Prayer: Dear Lord, Teach me to trust in You so when the storms of life come, I will expect peace in the midst of those storms. Knowing that you are near, you hear my cries, and you are with me and for me. In Jesus’ name amen.
