One of my favorite old hymns is based on this verse, "He Giveth More Grace." ❤️&🙏, c.a.
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. (Philippians 3:12 NKJV)
Thought For the Week: As we contemplate this scripture, we must have Apostle Paul’s attitude of humility. Let us never be misunderstood in word or deed, that we have arrived to the pinnacle we aimed at in the excellency of the knowledge of Christ, and a full and perfect stature in that body, or almost at the very height, we should make a modest confession of our “not” attainment. Yet our sincerest desire and supreme endeavor is to be raised to complete holiness; we are created to. Yet in this we pursue, with all of our might after utmost perfection as those perfected in glory. (Hebrews 12:23) With earnest contention, for holiness in our Christian race, lay hold on that attainment to be as holy as we shall be at the resurrection. And for this purpose, be perfectly sanctified and glorified at the resurrection. We must be at our effectual calling laid on by Jesus Christ in whom we are striving after perfection. With this, knowing that Christ; having brought us near unto God and undertook to work such a measure of holiness in us, one day would completely glorify us, so that, whatever we passed through, nothing should be lost.
Prayer: Father as I come to you by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, I submit my life (body, soul and spirit) to you and I pray that you purge me from every filthiness of the flesh and spirit so that you will perfect my holiness in the fear and reverence of God in Jesus name, Amen.
