Part 2

Last week we learned that God is El Roi, ‘The God Who Sees Me’ so even in your silent suffering he can hear your desperate cries for help.  He hears your wordless cries (Genesis 4:10) just like he heard Ishmael’s under that bush in the desert. It was also noted that in order to stay in faithful humility we have to understand the power of God and His purpose for our lives. This task can only be derived through obedience, prayer, and faith. These are some of the precious pearls Moses found as he traversed the desert.

Like Ishmael, Moses gained power and strength in the desert. In his preparation to return to Egypt, God built even more upon his faith with an assurance the enemies he previously fled, were now all dead.                                                                                                             

Never judge by what we see…

Moses then returns to Egypt—not with an army of mighty men, but with his family and the rod of God. To Pharaoh, he may have looked like a beggar, but he had the presence of the King.  This is why we must be mindful never to judge by what we see in the physical realm. You just might underestimate the power of God in that judgment—Pharaoh did ten times. (Exodus 7:14 and Exodus 10:29)                                                                       

God is not a reactionary God—no, He is a God of action therefore your circumstances are defeated in His presence. Each facet of God contains the authority and power to deliver you from every situation at any given moment—For when He said “Let there be” there was! God does many things in different seasons, but at all times.

This explains His declaration to Moses, “Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. I am the LORD. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name, JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”(Exodus 6:1-3) This sacred name JEHOVAH declares the self-contained power of God as it relates to his covenantal authority towards His chosen people Israel. As He proclaimed Israel His son — my firstborn, in protection of “My firstborn”, would perform many signs and wonders to secure their freedom. Moses’ faith had to rise up to another level in order to be a conduit for those signs and wonders. And with this wisdom, he had to develop more courage.

Through the timely revelatory progression of God’s word—he further substantiates Moses’ faith, by the declaration of Moses as a “god to Pharaoh and Aaron his prophet.” Earthly promotion may come from mortals, but true spiritual promotion comes only from God.  He will translate you; enabling you to reap the harvest He has intended for your life. Note, obedience is key to this reaping. God’s command here is: “Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land…” And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

We must know Who God is….

From the time Moses first came to Pharaoh’s court until Israel was set free—he obeyed every command God uttered. Simply put, he trusted the LORD on every hand. Before we question God about what He does—we must know who He is and who He is can only be found in trusting and obeying Him. This trust grows through our life’s experiences and applications of the Word until it becomes true abiding faith.

Moses would need this kind of faith to lead the children of Israel back to Mt. Sinai. 

Although God exacted the dimension and avenged the needs of His people…And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies. (Exodus 12:44) Pharaoh’s heart was yet again hardened… (Exodus 14:8)
