Lately, in my conversations as well as Bible Study there has been a constant topic in the background…How to stay focused and not be distracted by things in this life that will keep us from walking the path God has designed for our destinies. Today with all the technology–everything from social media to video games and just life, in general, we find ourselves being human pinballs trying to keep ourselves from falling down that hole of insanity. Which in itself is an uphill battle but can still be won. There is a scripture that reads…You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)

May this prayer help you to keep your focus and stay on the right path…

Loving Father, help me to cultivate spiritual disciplines, so I am more able to receive what you have to tell me, and more willing to do what you require. I spend so much time thinking, planning, and worrying about my life. Your word says that, although people plan their course in their hearts, it is you who establishes our steps. Help me to make you the center of my planning. I can do nothing without you giving me the strength to do it. I can plan nothing without you giving me the mind to plan it. The desires of my heart can only be satisfied in you. Direct my steps, Lord, to follow you. May I not only come to you with just my needs, my praise, and my thanksgiving but make a habit of spending time in worshipful listening. Help me not allow the distractions of social media and the busyness of life drown out your still small voice. Help me be guided in all things by you, rather than my own imperfect judgment. In Your Blessed Son’s name, I pray. Amen.
