With all that is happening in the world today, many times we find ourselves angry, frustrated, aggravated, or just plain over it. And you read all of these sayings like, “all the time you spent talking about it did you think to pray?” In all truthfulness, when we find ourselves in one of those states praying seems furthest from our minds. We must make a conscious decision to pray when we find ourselves heading down Angry Avenue, Frustration Street, Aggravation Boulevard or Just Plain Over It Lane. It’s not a sin to feel those things. However, a sinful act usually follows. That is why the word of God teaches us to “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. (Ephesians 4:26 NKJV) In other words, do not allow sin to bring you to open shame or last too long. For the longer anger boils it gives the devil free course to run, which is something we simply must not do.

Heavenly Father,
Only You can take all of my anger, pain and hurt; and replace it with Your passions and desires. I ask You Lord Jesus, please teach me how to act with love, joy, and patience. Father, I need for You to show me how to preserve what my anger tries to destroy. This is my heart’s desire. In Jesus’ Holy name I pray. Amen.
