am the Lord, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images.
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
(Isaiah 42:8-9 NKJV)

  1. The KJV is very poetic and wonderful to read.
    Did you know that whenever LORD is in all caps, that is when the author used the “real Name of God,” given to Moses, YHWH (I AM)?
    The Hebrews were afraid to use this, even in their translations of Scripture for fear of “taking the LORD’s name in vain.” But I always thought, how could translating SCRIPTURE take Yahweh’s name in vain?
    Just a thought.

    • C.A. I did know that and I have and do read the KJV version and also teach from it. However, I try to use a translation that is much easier for my readers to understand. But thanks for the information.

  2. I was raised on the Kjng James, and it was funny because in 1st grade kids were having trouble figuring out how to read, “See Jane throw the stick for Rover,” while at home we were reading about Sennacherib attacking Jerusalem! 😊
    But I have preferred ESV for many years now for it’s clarity.
