And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the Lord swore to your fathers…(Deuteronomy 6:18 NKJV)
Thought of the Week: We must understand the command of God here. He is not referring to what we see as right in our own eyes, such as many superstitious and sinful practices that seem right and good to evil-minded men. Rather than let God’s will and word, and not our own fancies or inventions, be our rule in God’s service. Good actions are often said to be right in God’s sight, as Jeremiah 34:15 Acts 4:19; and evil actions are often said to be right in our own eyes, as Deu 12:8 Judges 17:6.
Prayer: Father please help me to walk circumspectly according to your word and your will. Keep me in a plain path for your righteousness sake and teach me your ways that I might see what is right through your eyes. Give me a clean heart oh God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. And gives me the wisdom to change what is evil into good. In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
