I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4 KJV)
Thought for the Week: When we seek the LORD it is not just in trusting Him, but running to Him, in faith, making our request known—believing that He hears us. While running for his life, being persecuted by Saul, David sought the LORD. Here he wants to emphasize when he fled to the country of Abimelech or Achish; he did not use his intellect or any devices of man. No, he sought God for His guidance and protection. (Psalm 16:8 NKJV) Likewise, David did the same when he fled to Gath, and when he fled from Gath. That same God delivered him many times from the onslaughts of Saul as He also did when David could find no earthly refuge. David found his most secure safety was abiding in the presence of God. And in these unsure times, the secret place of the Most High is where we all should dwell.
Prayer: Faither, I humbly ask that You go before me, please contend with those who contend with me. Protect both me, my family, and all those connected to me. I trust that You are more than able if it be Your divine will to do so. My desire is to rest in the wings of Your protection. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, AMEN.
