Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
Are you seeking God to establish peace in your life?
Thought for the Week: Seemingly, this is a command for us not to be too anxious for anything, but with sure confidence give God thanks and desire from Him whatever we need. And with a quiet conscience, we may wholly, with sincere hearts, submit ourselves to Him. In that same chapter, the Apostle further declares: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NKJV) Our needs, not our wants. If we would just apply these two biblical principles, our levels of thanksgiving would surely be raised and our levels of disappointment would dissipate. Because we would allow our needs and our wants to be separated into two different entities. Then we would be able to accept those differences in our hearts, as we submit ourselves to God.
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for providing all of my earthly needs. I ask that You continue to guide me clearly to everything I need to fulfill my mission. And I also pray for the provision of a safe and healthy life for me and my loved ones. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
