We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 KJV)
Thought of the Week: As believers, in many ways we are afflicted with many afflictions. Yet we are not like people bound in a strait place, as they are not able to turn, nor know which way to move. We are perplexed; which signifies doubting, uncertain what shall become of us, or how God will dispose of us; full of anxious, troublesome thoughts about what will be our lot in the world. And yet in all of this we are not despairing of the help, presence, support, and assistance of God.
Prayer: Father, please hold us in Your caring arms. Embrace us with Your life-giving love. Apply Your resurrecting hands to our wounded places. Let us experience the joy of Your redeeming grace. It is Your power that heals. It is Your will that we live in good health as our souls seek You. Now in our time of need, please deliver us from our afflictions. These and other blessings we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
