April Showers

We welcome the month of April. With its first day showering us with jokes, pranks, and shenanigans. Spring has finally sprung; with flowers blossoming and leaves turning green everywhere.

This entire month is National Donate Life, National Stress Awareness, and Jazz Appreciation Month. The time of year we are reminded to keep other’s needs in mind and if one listens to jazz; perhaps they can be stress free. April has celebrations almost everyday; such as National Tartan Day, World Heritage Day and Earth Day. But, as we approach Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday (better known as Easter) let us not forget the centerpiece of this month—Jesus Christ, who went to the cross so that we could be free from the clutches of sin and reconciled with God. Thereby, granting us the greatest celebration of all—Eternal life.

A little April Trivia: Where does the month of April come from? April was already the second month on the Roman calendar (March was the first), long before January and February were added to the end of the year, by King Numa Pompilius, around 700 BCE. April was then rearranged into fourth position and assigned 29 days. Then Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar in 1852, adding one more day.

May the month ahead shower you with blessings of endless joy, an abundance of love, happiness and prosperity—not just in your pockets, but in your souls.

Happy April to you all. Blessings and Peace!
