“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” (Exodus 23:25 NKJV)
Thought For The Week: Although this promise was made to the nation of Israel; as believers, God should be the center of our worship. From this worship, we exact our obedience to Him and put away not only visible idols, but the idols in our hearts. The blessings that follow this obedience are bountiful provision and good health. But you will only experience these blessings by walking in God’s ways. This can be accomplished by virtuous and godly living, which conduce to good health, and take away half the sicknesses from which men suffer, even today.
Prayer: Thy Great Jehovah, I desire to live godly in Christ Jesus and I pray that You would help me to develop an attitude of obedience to Your will and an increasing trust in Your Word. Help me to grow in grace, and to develop the right godly practice and scriptural purpose in life, so that You are lifted up in my heart and glorified in all I do. May I learn to praise You without ceasing and to develop an attitude of prayfulness – and help me to be obedient to carry out all that I am called to do as a child of God – so that You increase as I decrease. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
