Now therefore, let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You, O Lord God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.” (2 Samuel 7:29 NKJV)

2 SAMUEL 7 IN ITS ENTIRETY

Thought for the Week: As believers, the ground of our prayers must forever be in the lovingkindness and promises of God. Not in lip service, but found in our hearts. Lifted up and poured out before Him. We must understand that God declared Himself to be the God of Israel and also our God. Like David, we must have unshakeable faith on the truth of all that God has said, and confidently expect the accomplishment of God’s promises to us. Because His words never fall onto the ground but accomplish that which He assigns them to do. (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV) We must also realize the blessings over our house are not earned by anyone in our household, but are given according to God’s sovereignty, grace and divine pleasure. This alone, should be the foundation for us to build our faith and hopes upon the sureness of God’s promises.

Prayer: Dear Father, Please bless our home; may Your light, love and life reside here. Anoint our hospitality; may others find the peace and refuge they seek. Bless our living space; may we create rest and restoration here. Watch over our sleep; may we enjoy comfort and renewal. Bless our finances; may we cherish and care for this place. O Holy One, live with us, come abide here. Please let Your promised blessings begin to descent that Your promises be manifested; so your children may find encouragement that the entire promise will be fulfilled. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
