“And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction.” (I Corinthians 7:35 NKJV)

Are you being distracted? Always remember. The battle is not in the distraction. The battle is in the focus.

Thought for the Week. In reference to the preceding scripture (see I Corinthians 7:34), the Apostle Paul is conveying to the hearers that he is telling them this for their own benefit. So as today, are these instructions for our benefit and advantage. Thereby, not entangling us in a noose or taking away our freedom. But rather allowing us to view these instructions from a place of comeliness or honesty, as we await the return of Jesus Christ. Since we have been set free by Jesus Christ, the apostle is giving us instructions that will keep us from being once again entangled by the affairs of this world.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray for the safety of husbands and wives. I implore your protection over us. There is so much evil in this dark world. There are those who have wicked intentions and there are schemes the enemy tries. Please defend us O God! Send angels to guard our families and our homes. Please keep the evil far from us. I pray for peace. May your peace fill us and comfort us. May Your will be done. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
