My friend Kyle and I were having one of our weekly conversations about God’s word and how we didn’t want to be hypocrites. You know hearers and not doers of God’s word. Then we began discoursing what was wrong with ourselves. And the one commonality we found was the desire to get back into the disciplines that we practiced when we were really on fire for God. We also talked about how sometimes we try to justify why we are not doing more for God’s kingdom if we are professing to be believers. We came to the conclusion that in light of everything that is going on in the world, we must stay true to God and His Word no matter what. And that we must remain focused and diligent concerning the things of God.

The Apostle Paul reminds us, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV)

Here’s a prayer we hope will help you stay the course…

Prayer:

Dear Lord, no matter what trials await us tomorrow, may we never forget the blessings you have shown us. Help me cling to you as my anchor. Help me remember your steadfast love and faithfulness for me in all things. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
