One of my favorite old hymns is based on this verse, "He Giveth More Grace." ❤️&🙏, c.a.
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. (Proverbs 16:24 NKJV)
What type of words are you speaking?
PROVERBS 16 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought for the Week: Honey flows from the honeycomb as true Wisdom which is also true obedience, and of the “pleasant words” in which that Wisdom speaks. Thus yielding both profit and delight; their wholesome counsels and refreshing comforts. Wisdomic words which love suggests, and which breathe love. Such words are sweet to the soul of the hearer and bring strength and healing to their bones. Recognizing that bones are the strongest and greatest parts of our bodies and the supporters of the rest. Wise counsel not only restores soundness mind and spirit, but also preserves and advances it. We should always be cognizant of the words we speak and counsel we give to make sure it blesses the hearers with soundness of spirit and health to their bodies. For the words our Lord speaks are spirit and they are life. (John 6:63 NKJV)
Prayer: Lord, I know my tongue often gets ahead of my mind and heart. I am quick to speak and I repent of the many thoughtless things I have spoken. I am sorry for words I have spoken in anger or in gossip. Please help me to see when I am about to speak without thinking and to check my heart. Help me be slow to speak. Help me Lord to be a person full of loving words, full of your Spirit, overflowing with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
