Conclusion

Last week we learned that God is able to heal us, but we can’t buy our healing for any amount of money. And how our lives are hidden in Christ.

“Membership has its privileges.”

There used to be a commercial back in the 80s that said, “Membership has its privileges.” Referring to the credit card you never leave home without? Well, that’s the way I feel about being His offspring. This membership too has greater privileges and I try never to leave home without Him. Again, there are just some things money cannot buy.

Let’s suppose for a moment you are in good health, have the ‘so called’ perfect family, a luxurious lifestyle, plenty of money in the bank, and that black credit card that’s the white noise in the working man’s background. You are on everybody’s invitation list and throw phenomenal soirées. But, are these ‘everybodys your friends in the true sense of the word? Or just coat tail riders because of your societal status? You are not even sure yourself. This has you somewhat paranoid.

Every now and then you need to put a check on with whom you are associated. The litmus test of a true friend is one that sticks with you when you are going through the direst circumstances. Who will go with you to the west end of Hell and back without complaint or gossip—when everyone else has vanished into the woodwork. One who will not turn on you at the drop of a hat. Has a real understanding of your idiosyncrasies. And will convince you of your self-worth when you’ve lost it under a pile of life’s disappointments. This observation will also tell you a lot about their character. But in case you didn’t know. A friend that will stick closer than a brother and love you no matter where you are is Jesus Christ.

The most dangerous animal…

Now the covers are pulled back and you are finding out things are not always what they appear. The most dangerous animal in society’s zoo is not the bull—it’s the love of money. When money comes up people change unless they are rooted in God. But when you know God and walk with Him, you realize it is not the things you possess; but the precious promises of God that are our greatest possessions.  That’s the blessing of being one of His offspring.

So at the end of the day, you are restless. That prestigious position has you stressed to the max. Your children are transforming into spoiled brats, who feel they are entitled to everything; but have earned nothing. Now you are having to take a pill to relax and one to keep you awake—You feel lonely and depressed in a room full of people. This brass ring has you seeing a therapist twice a week to help you sort out your life. Seemingly, you have everything; yet would give anything to have peace in your life. But you just can’t seem to find it. Better to eat a dry crust of bread with peace of mind than have a banquet in a house full of trouble. (Proverbs 17:1)

It seems to me we complicate our own lives, more than anyone or anything. When we place our faith in bank accounts and people. But put no faith in our heavenly account and God. Then I suppose the better question would be are you making any deposits in that one? And are you placing your faith in God? Yes, we need money to live this life. As my youngest daughter always says, “It is simply a tool and nothing more.” By these biblical illustrations, it is not money that gives us life. No, it is the power and authority of God and Him alone that does these things.

The divine favor of God on my life and unshakeable faith.

Someone once asked me, “If you could have anything in the world what would it be?” I didn’t have to even think about it. My answer is “The divine favor of God on my life and unshakeable faith. I would have no need for anything more.” God’s favor placed a family in an ark of safety, miraculously preserved a people throughout biblical history, made men kings, women queens, toppled kingdoms, conquered innumerable armies, caused three boys to walk out of a fiery furnace, Daniel to walk out of a den of lions and even made time stand still for Joshua. Then when we read Hebrews Chapter 11 which is our “Faith” Hall of Fame, we see what unshakeable faith can do. And God did this all through His eternal power, not some special effects company. Truly, there are just some things money cannot buy!

Are you depositing your treasures in your heavenly account where vermin cannot destroy them and thieves cannot steal them? Think about it.

May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week….Blessings and Peace!
