For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17 NKJV)

JOHN I IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought for the Day: The law, moral and ceremonial, was given by Moses as God’s minister and servant; that law by which no man can be justified, Romans 3:28 and although God made profound use of Moses there is an eminent difference between him and Jesus the Christ. Nowhere is the law called grace, neither does it discover anything but duty and wrath. All that is from Christ; all the favor of God for the remission and pardon of sin, and for strength and assistance to the performance of duty, is from Christ as the fountain of grace; and not grace only, but also truth, as it fulfills God’s word.

Prayer: Lord, how can we ever thank You enough? You endured more pain, more shame, more sorrow, more grief than we can possibly fathom. Help us remember why You gave Your life. Because of love. Because of mercy. Because we desperately need them both. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
