“I said I wanted to meet him, but I never said I’d been easy on him.”

Fame and success can sometimes distract us from the past hurts and pains we suffer. So we find ourselves in a vortex of pain trying to fill a void in our hearts. But it is only through forgiveness and the love of God we can fill this emptiness. You can only run so far for so long. Then you must turn around, face those hurts and pains of the past. Doing this not only to heal but to be able to move on into a positive future, as you rectify those mistakes along the way.
In this modern-day interpretation of the Prodigal Son—this is the lesson our main character, Liam Page (Alex Roe), a Country Music superstar; was about to learn, after leaving Josie (Jessica Rothe) at the altar, a father, and townspeople behind some eight years ago. Carrying an eight-year-old memory in his pocket that he listened to every night after walking away. A constant reminder of a past of which he could not let go.
After seeing the death of his best friend Mason, on the news, Liam leaves his concert responsibilities behind and returns to St. Augustine, Louisiana to attend Mason’s funeral. Sitting on the church steps, to avoid being noticed, Josie sees him and later gut punches him at the cemetery.
He soon discovers a seven-year-old surprise (Abby Ryder Fortson) with his late mother’s namesake Billy. A surprise that was pivotal in the healing process for all. That had more in common with him than even he knew. The son of Pastor Brian (John Benjamin Hickey). Who is a man so lost in his own grief he can find no words to comfort Liam, a good son, who took a bad turn for all the wrong reasons.

We give Forever My Girl
Sometimes we get so lost in our mistakes and hurt, that the confusion of not knowing who we are takes us on an off-beaten path. But once we determine enough is enough; through God’s grace, we can truly find our way back home.
