So happy you like it. Thank you for stopping by Barb. Have a blessed week!
I love allegories and found one—The Dream Giver. This book was given to me as a birthday gift some years ago and it is one of those books that when you pick it up is hard to put down.
From the bestselling author of The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life comes a story about pursuing one’s dreams. This book comes in two parts. The first part of The Dream Giver is the story about “Nobody named Ordinary who lived in the Land of Familiar,” he decides to pursue his big dream; he encounters many obstacles he overcomes along the way. Having to overcome Border Bullies, navigating through the Wasteland, and battling fierce Giants in the Land. I like that at the end of each chapter Ordinary writes notes on his accomplishments and discoveries of that day. Not a bad idea.
The author compared Nobody’s journey to the Exodus; which to some degree one could see. This book illustrates how God is with us no matter the trial and how merciful and gracious he is toward us as we seek to do His will. And when God sends you to pursue His Big Dream it’s not going to be easy. But when we replace fear with faith He is there to help us all the way.
In the second part of the book, Wilkinson is the Dream Coach, who counsels readers on how to achieve their own Big Dreams through confronting their fears, bearing hardships, and submitting to God; thereby realizing their full potential. Reflecting on the moments in the tale of Ordinary, Wilkinson reiterates the lessons learned by his man on the scene with the utilization of personal anecdotes, scriptures, and prose. The voice of this book speaks, simplistically, about how to find and fulfill your destiny by overcoming conflict.
For whatever reason you haven’t gone after your big dream, this book will probably tell you why and what to do to get there. It is a book of encouragement letting the reader know that no matter where you are in your walk of life, you are never too old and time has not yet run out for you to start and finish your own Big Dream adventure. And in that adventure what might seem like a road full of obstacles is actually a series of opportunities to strengthen you along the road to your destiny.
We give The Dream Giver
