The month of June is upon us. Half of 2022 is already gone. It’s as if time is in fast forward. And this first day is honoring parents all around the world. Better known as Global Day of Parents. Today’s parents have their work cut out for them. Especially single parents. I call my daughter for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. To all the parents everywhere. You’re doing a phenomenal job. Even in your discouraging moments don’t give up. Just keep doing the best you can. Don’t lose hope.
On a loftier note. Most of our neighbors are grilling on the weekends or just hanging out by their pools. The temperature here in Florida is just right for flip flops, sunglasses, and big hats—whether at the beach or poolside at home, June is the month to relax and reflect. Others are moving into a new home or downsizing into a condo. June is the month for the movers and shakers too!
Looking at June’s calendar, there are some 169 June holidays. Here are just a few. African-American Music Appreciation Month, Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, Caribbean-American Heritage Month, Child Vision Awareness Month, National Men’s Health Month, National PTSD Awareness Month, National Rose Month, Professional Wellness Month, Rebuild Your Life Month, and Sports America Kids Month. For the complete list visit the beach.
… let us not forget D-Day and the Army’s Birthday.

There are numerous celebrations every day in this month. You can’t RSVP them all. So you’ll just have to pick the ones you want to celebrate. For the dessert aficionado—don’t forget about National Hazelnut Cake Day. And to all of you who still enjoy board games; there’s International Tabletop Day. Music lovers will be celebrating Global Beatles’ Day and Prince’s Birthday. When reflecting on our country’s history let us not forget D-Day and the Army’s Birthday. We’ve got to celebrate Juneteenth. Let’s always remember the Day of Pentecost known as Holy Spirit Monday. Finally, all you procrastinators, don’t wait until the last minute to do your Father’s Day shopping. Mark your calendars all you busy June bugs!
A little June Trivia. Did you know that June comes from the Latin Iunius, “of Juno (Iuno),” referring to the Roman goddess? The J sound for the I in Latin’s Iuno emerges in French, and its spelling with the letter J didn’t settle in English until the late 1600s. This month was originally the fourth month of the year in earlier versions of the Roman calendar and consisted of 30 days. It became the fifth month with a length of 29 days following a calendar reform around 450 BCE. In the Julian calendar, June was given a length of 30 days again.
Dear God: Thank You for carrying us through another month. Because of You we made it this far. We pray You bless our June 1-30 with peace, strength, wisdom, ideas, opportunities, spiritual, mental, and financial growth. Take us beyond our own expectations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Happy New Month and best wishes to you all. Blessings and Peace!

You are welcome. Since my husband's passing I'd gotten behind in my movie and book reviews. But if you stick…
