Today I am blessed to be celebrating another birthday and after COVID variants, hurricanes, and trials I have been through these past years, I know that God is watching over, not just me, but also my loved ones. Which is something I never take for granted. I am so grateful to still be alive…I feel like David who said…If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 124:2-8 NKJV)
Oh God: I thank You for giving me another year of life. I thank You for all of the people who have remembered me today. Who have sent me cards, letters, good wishes, and presents. I thank You for everything which I have been enabled by You to do and to be in this past year. I thank You for all the experiences of this past year, for the times of success which will always be happy memories; for times of failure which remind me of my own weakness and of my need of You. For times of joy when the sun was shining and for times of sorrow which drove me to You. Thank you, Lord, for it all. In Your precious name, I pray. Amen.

Happy Birthday again for this side of Heaven. I passed my 71st last month, and realized at 68 that King David only lived to 70 before “David slept with his fathers.”
My Dad used to call anything past 70 as “years of grace.” While I still enjoy living on earth, I am more and more looking forward to going Home. Any time the Lord chooses will be fine with me.

Ironically, many of the saints say the same thing concerning after 70 that those years are grace. Well I havent hit seventy but I am closer now than I am to sixty. I am just grateful for the years I’ve been blessed to have on this earth. Another merciful day to get it right. Thank you for the birthday salutation and Happy Belated Birthday to you!
