We live in a world today where many thoughts and opinions are spoken. Every kind of conversation can be heard or overheard depending on the environment that you are in. However, the word of God teaches us that Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. (Psalm 119:165 KJV)
The fruit of offense is bitterness, strife, unforgiveness, envy, anger, and resentment. These types of fruit none of us want to bear. So if you are the type of person that is easily offended then perhaps this prayer will help you defeat that issue.
“Jesus, please call out the spirit of offense that is wreaking havoc on my soul. Remove it from my life and take away all its power. Deal with me on this issue and help me place this moment into a Kingdom frame so that in my heart and behavior, I’m not jerked around by the enemy of my soul who is whispering in my ear what he’d rather me believe. Please empower me to forgive and love unconditionally as you love me. Teach me not to cling to negative words or nurse my offenses until they grow into something deeper. Help me recognize misunderstandings and unintended offenses, and give me the wisdom, strength, and maturity to deal with these situations and move forward. Lord, I pray that offense will not harden my heart, but I will demonstrate love and kindness to all those who have wronged me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
