From time to time we need to be reminded that we have been justified, and made right with God. Not by our own works because there is no amount of right we could possibly do to erase the sin that existed between us and God. We did not possess enough money to redeem our lives back from the death penalty. It is by grace and grace alone, the unmerited favor of God, that has redeemed us and made us righteous. And for that, we most certainly need to be thankful.

Heavenly Father, sometimes I forget that it is Your grace that saves me. Sometimes I try leaning on my own righteousness, which will never be enough. Thank You for freely giving me the gift of righteousness, for redeeming my life, and for allowing me to stand in Your presence, justified and blameless, because of what Jesus has done. I am extremely grateful for all of your blessings in my life, Lord. I pray that you remind me of just how blessed I am and that you never allow me to forget to show my gratitude in prayer and return acts of kindness as you have shown me. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
