“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.  After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.” (I Corinthians 15:3-8 NKJV)

I CORINTHIANS 15 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Food For Thought: The Apostle Paul gets to the heart of the matter by defining what the gospel message about Christ truly is and that he presented it to the Corinthians exactly as it was given to him by Jesus Christ. The first truth of the gospel message is this: Christ died for our sins. The Son of God who was without sin bore all of our sins on the cross. A redemption we simply could not pay—a sacrifice only He could make. And this defining moment is all-inclusive of his burial and most importantly his resurrection. And that risen Christ revealed Himself to many people who were alive at the time Paul wrote this letter.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, by Your radiant and magnificent resurrection, You broke the bonds of death and rose from the grave as a conqueror. You reconciled Heaven and Earth. Our life had no hope of eternal happiness before You redeemed us. Your resurrection has washed away our sins, restored our innocence, and brought us joy. How inestimable is the tenderness of Your love! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
