For those of you who are going through grieving for the loss of a loved one—today I am right there with you. There is no amount of words that can ultimately describe how or what you feel because we all deal with grieving differently. But I pray as we pray this prayer together that you find some comfort in these words…

Father, Thank you that You are the “source of all comfort,” like it says in 1 Corinthians 1:3. I ask for Your comfort to overwhelm me right now. I am not doing okay. My heart is sad, and I don’t know what to do about it, except for coming to You right now. Help me process what I am going through, and not just sweep my feelings under the rug. I’m not good at this, so I don’t know what to do next. Help me reach out to others if I need to. Help me trust that You will be with me every moment I am going through this. I am grateful that this will not last forever, and that one day You will make all things right. Help me fix my eyes on You, and cling to You during this time. Thank You, that You meet me right where I am. In Jesus’ name, amen.

But this I call to mind,
    and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
    his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
    great is thy faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
    “therefore I will hope in him.”
—Lamentations 3:21-24

May the Lord bless you. May the Lord keep you. May He give you peace.

  1. The pain that I have been enduring is from a man who I once loved and married for thirty years however I was abuse during those years, as well as cheated on and also a man that has been trying to kill our daughter and he lived a double life. I have cried out to God with the questions of why and I still can’t comprehend it all, and I simply can’t put into words all of the pain that I am feeling.

    • I am so sorry for what you are going through. I believe at some point in life we all feel a place of pain and hurt that we just cannot put into words. But, the pain you feel so does Jesus. And His love for you will never run out. Some things we don’t understand. But the word teaches us that He knows our needs before we even ask. When you get a chance read Psalm 91. Perhaps it will help. And always remember—There is NOTHING too hard for God. Be and stay blessed.
