“Trust, it’s in God’s hands. He’s not going to let you down.”

Synopsis: Janie Caswell is a power player in the boardroom but is having a meltdown at the thought of becoming a mom. While on the rooftop of her building her silent prayer is answered when an angel intervenes and puts her life on fast forward.
At the film’s beginning, God and Gabriel are having a conversation about Janie (Jillian Murray). God decides to send Gabriel down to earth to lift Janie’s faith because she seems to be more concerned about business than family. Business is her comfort zone. She is convinced she is a “businesswoman, not a baby woman” as the time for her to give birth encroaches on her life.
While taking kudos for a job well done Janie’s water breaks and she gets into the cab with Gabe (Robert Amaya) off to the hospital she goes where she gives birth to the most beautiful baby girl—Samantha. She starts having issues holding the baby and starts to panic because the baby’s head was bobbing. Her husband, David (Aaron Mees) takes the baby–places a pacifier in her mouth and all seems right with the world.
12 hours later, they are leaving the hospital, and as the nurse is wheeling Janie out she gets a phone call from the office with a problem she thinks only she can solve. When the driver arrives, who just happens to be Gabe, he tries to tell her that he is an Angel sent to help. But Janie just shrugs it off or retorts some cynical remarks—steady on the phone with the office while giving him directions to the shortest route. She tells him to make a left turn. The next thing you know they are hit by a truck and six years later we find Janie in a hospital room finally waking up from a coma—unaware of where she is or where she’s been. David explains what happened that they are no longer in New York but have moved in with her father in Southport. He introduces her to Samantha (Delyla de Castro) and while Janie is going through physical therapy she and Sam begin to bond.

Finally home Janie can’t seem to get work off her mind and there are a lot of issues she and David need to sort out. One issue just happens to be a neighbor by the name of Kelly (Brittany Goodwin) who’s been helping David and her father with Sam and her intentions are not squeaky clean—Janie feels threatened by this. And when she tells her father he tells her “Trust, it’s in God’s hands. He’s not going to let you down.” She feels so insecure because Kelly has been a part of Sam’s life all those years she was lying in a coma.
Torn between two worlds Janie keeps calling her old job until finally, the CEO sets a time slot for one of her infamous pitches but it is on Sam’s birthday. Will Janie leave Samantha again? Will she and David work out their problems? Will she learn to trust God and find her true purpose? You will just have to watch the movie to find out.

We give An Unlikely Angel
This film reminds me of What If. It has a different twist but the same basic storylines. This is a fictional story and some would say unrealistic in terms of how God works. God may not send you in warp speed to see your future. But He has been known to be a God of deliverance no matter where you are in life. He works all things together for our good. Familiarity does not always bring success. Sometimes change is necessary to give us a better perspective on our lives—Especially when God gives us a second chance.
