Welcome November!

As October becomes a distant memory, the year’s end is closer than we thought. Don’t forget to set those clocks back to Daylight Saving Time. It still feels like Summer here in the Sunshine State. We are looking forward to some cool breezes blowing our way, bringing in all of the fall festivities we’ve come to know for this month. Family truly comes to mind as we start off with Family Stories Month. There is nothing more enjoyable and interesting than sharing family stories with your children and grandchildren. Speaking of the younger generation over at Disney, they will be celebrating Mickey and Minnie’s birthdays. We can always use a little Disney cheer, no matter what time of year!

Most of us, when we think of November, think of celebrating Thanksgiving Day with Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, delicious food, and football. Yet the really surprising statistic is that the month of November comprises 267 special days of awareness and observances to celebrate. Out of those 267, there are 35 monthly observations, but we only named a few. Such as Library and Information Services Month, Manatee Awareness MonthMilitary Family MonthPTA Healthy Lifestyles MonthNational Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness MonthNational Diabetes MonthNational Novel Writing Month, and National Peanut Butter Lovers Month. You will find the complete list in our pumpkin patch.

National Gratitude Month is one that really needs to be remembered.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, when we rally around that dinner table giving thanks, let us not forget this month is National Gratitude Month, one that really needs to be remembered. A time to not just speak gratitude but show it. We should be thankful every day, not just one day out of the year. So far, America is blessed to be a country of abundance, whereas around the world, there are many countries that are not as fortunate.
