Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me. (Acts 20:34 NKJV)
ACTS 20 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought for the Week: Please note that Apostle Paul was not interested in other men’s money, clothing, or eating their food insomuch as he was appealing to the elders of this fact as his witnesses. Paul worked with his hands at tent making, along with Aquila and Priscilla, at Ephesus, as he had done before at Corinth, ( Acts 18:2 Acts 18:3 Acts 18:18 Acts 18:19 ) and provided for himself the necessary food and clothing. Even though he had power, as a minister of the Gospel, to not work, and could have requested maintenance from the churches, in some cases, and in some places, he chose rather to forego that, to prevent in any way the hindrance to progress of the Gospel at his first preaching it, or be a burden to the churches, or give the false teachers any means of false accusations. Not only did he support himself but he also assisted others.
Prayer: Father helps us to always seek Your kingdom first knowing that You will instruct us in the way You would have us go to minister Your word to Your people and with the confidence of knowing the things we need you will also give us the necessary tools if need be to supply our needs according to Your riches in glory which are in Christ Jesus. In Your Son’s holy name, we pray. Amen.
