About Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving many were blessed to sit around the family table to eat with the ones they loved. There were also some missing from that gathering for the first time and yet we still found in our hearts to be thankful. Because we realized that God’s grace and mercy even go far beyond that. It also gave us a quiet opportunity to recognize it was just a blessing to be able to slow down and reflect amidst all of the chaos we deal with on a daily basis, So let’s see what our writer counterparts have to say in that reflection…
Alice Walker is the first African American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for The Color Purple. – “‘Thank you’ is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.”
Epicurus the ancient Greek philosopher who founded Epicureanism, a highly influential school of philosophy. – “Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”
Maya Angelou world-famous author best known for her unique and pioneering autobiographical writing style. – “Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.”
Samuel Johnson an English writer the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography calls him “arguably the most distinguished man of letters in English history. – “Gratitude is the fruit of cultivation.”
Voltaire was one of the first authors to become renowned and commercially successful internationally. “Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”

Sorry for answering so late Jon. But it was. I flew to Texas and spent it with my eldest son and his family. I pray the same for you. Blessings and Peace!
