The scriptures teach us that man should always pray and not faint. (Luke 18:1 KJV) Whenever studying God’s word I pray for not only understanding and revelation but that I might be able to maintain that word within my spirit man. Some of us struggle with comprehension and others with keeping what we’ve studied. Perhaps that’s why it is also written that we should meditate on His word day and night. (Psalm 1:2b NKJV)

Heavenly Father, as I read your word, help me memorize and keep its truth in my heart. So I may be ready to wield it like a sword when faced with the temptation to sin. Show me how to walk in a way that is pleasing to you. Reveal to me the depth and width of your great love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
