I Just Want To Be Healed

“You already are” – Jesus

by Dan Bean

  1. Some say, “God doesn’t do that anymore.” – According to Bean the reason some stopped believing is because they aren’t experiencing it. Religion caused them to stop focusing on Jesus and put their attention on doctrine and methods. They lost their fellowship with God and began following man’s traditions. Therefore nullifying the word and not seeing the miraculous. (pg 11)
  2. Some say, “It isn’t God’s will to heal you.” – “The best way to know God’s will is to look at what Jesus did. Referring to Matthew Chapter 8 where Jesus cleansed the leper, healed the centurion’s servant, rebuked Peter’s mother-in-law’s fever, cast out many demons, and healed all who were sick. Then Matthew writes in verse 17, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” (pg 15)
  3. Some say, “God must be teaching me something.” – “The Holy Spirit is our teacher not sickness.” (John 14:26 NKJV)) The writer contends that throughout our lives we will go through tests which are to help us develop character and spiritual strength. And how most people think of Job when they make the statement “God must be teaching me something.” Then elaborates that Job was not tested by God—he was tried by satan. God never engages in evil to teach us. (James 1:13 NKJV) And drives the point home—Just because you are going through tough times doesn’t mean it was ordained by God. (pg 17)
  4. Some say, “You haven’t done enough to be healed.” – Here the author poses a question…What is the biggest hindrance to faith? Works, trying to earn what God has given as a gift. Healing is a gift you can’t earn it. The enemy will tell you that you haven’t done enough to deserve healing. But the truth of the matter is we can never do enough. The only way we can receive healing from God is if He gives it to us by grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV)
