As an original Star Wars aficionado we celebrate the 47-year-old epic on May 4th, Star Wars Day. We must remember Cinco De Mayo for it is a holiday that celebrates Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. They have a lot to be thankful for and a reason to celebrate! Mothers get all the attention for at least one day this month because Mother’s Day is on the way! All of you procrastinators let’s get a move on—as fast as time is passing May 12th will be here before you know it. So get those cards and packages done. While we are grilling and chilling on Memorial Day…

On a more somber note, we must remember Peace Officers Memorial Day, for all the fallen and wounded officers in the line of duty who keep us safe every day. While we are grilling and chilling on Memorial Day, let us be thankful in remembrance of those who fought valiantly and sacrificed their lives for our freedom. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13 KJV)

Little May Trivia: The word May wasn’t actually used until the Middle Ages were on their way out, around the 15th Century AD. Up until then, the Roman word Maius was still used.

Father, please keep our families and loved ones safe this month. Watch over us and cover us with Your love. Shower us with good health, blessings, and happiness. Remove any fear, stress, and doubt in our hearts. Touch anyone who is hurting with Your healing balm of Gilead. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Happy New Month and best wishes to you all. Blessings and Peace!
