God spoke the equation of life when He said, “Let there be..” And each day when He spoke those words, all of creation came forth. Therefore you cannot subtract Him from Life’s equation. When we do all we have left is zero. Although the subtraction is defined as the process of taking a matrix, vector, or other quantity away from another under specific rules to obtain the difference.

When we exclude God from our life’s equation, this difference equals the effect of His absence like that of an earthquake with innumerable aftershocks that are too horrendous with which to contend. No prayer in school. The Ten Commandments were removed from the courthouse. A divided people. So many global atrocities too numerous to mention. The world’s moral compass points further South instead of True North every day. Without God we have no edit button—no borders for our conscience. (Ephesians 4:18-19 NKJV)

As believers, we must have David’s attitude. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” (Psalm 51:10-12 NKJV) And with God at the head of our lives, we won’t have to worry about finding a zero at the end of our equation; because He will be there.
