And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:10-11 NKJV)
ACTS 1 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought For The Week: When we think of Heaven, we tend to imagine a place in a place in the sky that cannot be seen by the human eye. But if we just fixate on what we can only see—we will miss the fullness of God’s kingdom; which Jesus has called us to proclaim in the here and now. So let our eyes gaze forward trusting Jesus to lead us as we proclaim His kingdom now. Because we know that one day He shall return.
Prayer: Lord, I know that my eyes can see only so far and my understanding is surely limited. Still, I know that You have called me to be an ambassador for Your kingdom. Help me to do my part in growing Your kingdom here in the earth by living for You and proclaiming Your good news. Please teach me to focus on the prize ahead so I will be ready and alert when You return. In Jesus’ name, amen.
