For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.” (Zechariah 4:10 NKJV)
ZECHARIAH 4 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought For Today: Today’s passage from Zechariah reminds us that God does not despise the day of small beginnings. In fact, He rejoices in them. In a society that values grandiose accomplishments and instant gratification, it’s so easy to overlook the power of small steps and small victories. We often measure success by the magnitude of the outcome, but God sees things differently. He sees the faith and diligence we put into even the smallest tasks, and He delights in our efforts.
Going forward let’s find joy and fulfillment in the small things. Let us appreciate the beauty of everyday moments, knowing that God sees and delights in them. No matter what societal standards may dictate. May we approach each small task with dedication and diligence, knowing that our willingness to do the small things faithfully is an act of worship to our living God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that You do not despise the day of small things. Help us to see the value and significance of the small tasks we do each day. May we find joy in the ordinary and mundane, knowing that You are present in every moment. Give us the strength and diligence to be faithful in the small things, trusting that You can use them for Your glory. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.
I love this reminder and prayer. May we go about our day praising the Lord for the simple and routine that truly create beauty in our day!
