I came across a prayer on FaceBook recently that reminded me of single mothers. As I researched to see how many single mothers there were worldwide the total was staggering. Would you believe that globally, 84% of single parents are mothers. In the United States, 80% of single parents are mothers. Ironically, the US has the highest rate of children living in single-parent households in the world.  One in eight women aged 18 to 60 worldwide — 13% — are unmarried and have children younger than 15 in their household. Some causes of single-parent households include death, divorce, unmarried parents, absent parents, and drug and alcohol usage. They really need our prayers….

Dear God, I pray for the woman who is under immense pressure. She feels as if she is carrying a heavy mountain on her shoulders; facing tremendous stress every day. Heavenly Father, please remind her that You are the source of her strength, the source of her life, and Your power is sufficient to help her lift these burdens and find true rest. Help her know that Your hands will never leave her and will support her through every difficult moment. In Jesus’ holy name, amen.
