*Sunday’s Devotion

Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. (2 Samuel 24:24 NKJV)

Thought For Today: Sometimes in our lives we may be tempted to offer God something that really doesn’t cost us anything. We may go through the motions of worship or service without truly giving ourselves to Him completely. But as David reminds us, God desires our whole heart and our complete devotion.

Today, let us honestly examine our hearts and ask ourselves if we are offering God our best. Are we willing to sacrifice for Him and give him our all in all? May David’s example inspire us that when we approach our worship we do it with a heart that is willing to make offerings that truly cost us something.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of King David, who understood the importance of offering You sacrifices that truly cost him. Help us to examine our hearts and see if we are truly giving You our best. Show us the areas in our lives where we may be holding back and give us the courage to give You our all. May our worship be genuine and pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
