*Sunday’s Devotion

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” (John 18:36 NKJV)

JOHN 18 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought For The Week: As followers of Christ we are part of a different kingdom – the kingdom of God. We may live in this world, but our citizenship is in heaven. Our focus should not ve on the temporary things of this world, but on the eternal things of God.

Yes, we may encounter struggles and difficulties in this life, but we can rest assure in the knowledge tht we belong to a higher kingdom. Just as Jesus let us not fight against the authorities of this world, we must also resist the temptatiom to engage in battles of this world. Instead let us fight to trust in God and seeking His will in all things. For our ultimate victory is not found in the things of this world, but in His promise of eternal life. Therefore, let us not forget that we are merely pilgrims passing through this world on our way to our home in heaven. We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and strive to live according to His teachings. Only then will we be able to experienct true peace, joy, and fulfilment in our lives.

Prayer: Father, please remind us that our citizenship is in heaven and we belong to Your higher kingdom. Give us the fortitude to resist temptations of this world and instead seek Your will in all things. Help us to keep our focus on You and to live according to Your teachings. Please guide us on our journey through this life and lead us to our eternal home with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
