But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:4 NKJV)

JAMES I IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought For The Week: Patience is a virtue that we often hear but may not fully understand. This text reminds us that patience is necessary for perfection and completeness. In patience we allow ourselves to grow and develop without rushing the process. This has nothing to do with becoming perfect in the wordly sense, but about becoming more like Jesus the Christ, who teaches us to trust in God and allow His plan to unfold in our lives.

So how do we develop patience in our daily lives? Our first call to action is we must learn to trust in the timing of God. Then we must learn to exercise self-comtrol and discipline which is a two-fold process: resisting the urge to rush things or concede when faced with challenges. And lastly, we must stay focused on the ultimate goal which is to become more like Christ.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help us to develop patience in our daily lives. Teach us to trust in Your timing and plan, even when it doesn’t make sense to us. Give us the self-control and discipline we need to persevere through challenges, knowing that they are all part of Your plan for our growth and development. Help us to stay focused on our ultimate goal of becoming more like Christ. In His mighty name. Amen.

  1. I have learnt this is a dangerous prayer! Father WILL answer anyone who asks for patience… and give us those people and circumstances in which He can form patience in us.😉
