Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” (Mark 9:37 NKJV)
MARK 9 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
Thought For The Week: Here, Jesus speaks to his disciples about the importance of welcoming and receiving children. This passage highlights the value of children in God’s eyes and the importance of treating them with love and respect.
As adults, we have a responsibility to care for and nurture the children in our lives. They are gifts from God and should be treated as such. We can learn a great deal from their innocence, curiosity, and sense of wonder. Children have a way of reminding us to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life.
Jesus’ words in Mark 9:37 are a reminder to us all to treat children with kindness and respect. We should never underestimate their worth or dismiss their ideas and opinions. As we welcome children in our lives, we are also welcoming Christ himself. Through them, we can catch a glimpse of God’s love and compassion.
Prayer: Dear God, we thank You for the gift of children in our lives. Help us to treat them with love and respect, as we would treat You. May we never underestimate their worth or dismiss their ideas and opinions. Give us the patience and wisdom to care for them and nurture their growth. We ask for your blessing upon all children, especially those who are vulnerable or in need of our help. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
