Ten Best Christian Films 2025

I must apologize for not keeping current with my movie reviews, as my book writing has kept me pretty much preoccupied when I wasn’t doing the plethora of other things that compose my days. I’d been trying to complete, start, and finish this list for well over a month now, so I was determined to get it out to you today. Here are the first five of our terrific ten!

1. The Chosen: Season 5

The groundbreaking series that’s brought the Gospels to life continues its journey on the big screen! The decision to arrest Jesus leads to a fiery debate; Roman soldiers track down a trouble-making crowd; Shmuel finds help from an unexpected source. This drama about the life of Jesus Christ introduces Jesus and the calling of his initial disciples, with a discussion after each episode. Chosen can be seen on the BYUtv and Chosen websites for free, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV (the app), Disney Plus, Fandango At Home, Jesus.net, and Netflix.

2. The Unbreakable Boy

When Scott and Teresa learn that their son, Austin, is autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry about his future. However, with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become unbreakable as they find joy, gratitude, and courage in the most trying times. This film is based on a true story, featuring an exciting cast that includes Zachary Levi from Tangled and Shazam! The movie “The Unbreakable Boy” was released on February 21, 2025, is rated PG, and is 1hr 49min. It is available to rent or buy on digital platforms such as Amazon Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, YouTube, Microsoft, and Xfinity.

3. Light of The World

This animated film reimagines the story of Jesus’ life through the eyes of a young shepherd boy who encounters the Light of the World. With stunning animation and a message of hope and salvation, Light of the World is an excellent way to introduce your family or children to the story of Jesus. “Light of the World” is planned for a limited theatrical release in the US on September 5, 2025. Check websites like Fandango, Atom Tickets, or local theater chains like AMC and Regal for showtimes in your area.

4. Between Borders

Between Borders is a faith-based drama based on the true story of the Petrosyans, a family of Armenian refugees. Much of the Petrosyans’ story is told in flashback as they’re facing deportation from the United States despite needing asylum. Their lives in late-1980s Azerbaijan deteriorated after the fall of the Soviet Union, when long-simmering racist attitudes against those of Armenian descent became bolder. It was released in 2024 and is 1h 30 min available on Angel Studios, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango, Apple TV, and other video-on-demand services.

5. King of Kings

This sweeping biblical epic is a cinematic retelling of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Including voice actors Mark Hamill, Pierce Brosnan, and Oscar Isaac as the voice of Jesus. This story is based on Charles Dickens’ short story “The Life of Our Lord,” which wasn’t published until years after Dickens’ death. Released in 2025 is 1hr 43min and rated PG. Is currently streaming on Angel Studios. It’s also available for purchase or rental on platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Video, Fandango at Home, and Vudu.

Here are the first five. We will conclude this list next week. So, all of you movie buffs, stay tuned. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace!
