As September comes so quickly upon us, and the showers come to us, every day now in the state of Florida. We are looking for the brisk cool air that usually comes in this month, but it just hasn’t caught up with us Floridians yet! Can you believe we are just 4 months away from the end of this year? Is there anything faster than warp speed, because I believe this year has been encapsulated in it? Although we know that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, we are quickly colliding with the end of the year.
Today, the first day of September, is also Labor Day, and I am having a ball just sitting here at home writing this post for my loyal readers today. Happy Labor Day! to all those of us who are getting rest from our day at work. Since we’ve got a little extra time today, let’s check out some of the 200 celebratory festivities that are going on this month. Everything from Building and Code Staff Appreciation Day to World Letter Writing Day and all things in between. For monthly celebrations, we have Baby Safety Month, Better Breakfast Month, Classical Music Month, Disaster Preparedness Month, Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness Month, and National Peace Consciousness Month, just to name a few. For the complete list, stop by the envelope with the Parisian stamp for the complete list.
As school-goers prepare to go back to school, let us continue to pray for the safety of our children. Not just in America but all around the world. On a somber note, let us not forget Annunciation Catholic School.

While in this somber place, let us never forget September 11th Patriot Day. A time to reflect on the devastating terror attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives in the Twin Towers of New York. On a lighter note, September 17th is Constitution Day, which marks the day that the U.S. Constitution was adopted. Constitution Day was officially established in the United States in 2004, when a law was passed requiring educational programs on September 17th to commemorate the signing of the Constitution. Senator Robert Byrd championed this effort, adding it to a federal spending bill that became law in December 2004.
A little September Trivia: The first American newspaper, “Publick Occurrences Both Foreign and Domestick,” was published in Boston on September 25th, 1690. However, it was shut down after its first issue due to the British authorities’ disagreement with its content.
Dear Lord, thank You for this new month of September and for the gift of life. Thank You for Your constant presence, strength, wisdom, and peace. As we move through this month, may our hearts be filled with peace, our minds with wisdom, and our spirits with courage. Fill our path with opportunities and our lives with blessings, miracles, and open doors. Help us to be patient in difficulties, kind in our words, and generous in our love towards others. May this month be a time of spiritual renewal, answered prayers, and breakthroughs in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Happy New Month! Blessings and Peace!

One of my favourite turning points in the year – not just because of the weather but it does feel like a new beginning from September onwards.
