*Sunday’s Devotion

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV)

COLOSSIANS 3 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought For The Week: This passage is a powerful call to transform our perspective on all of life’s work. Paul’s message is that no task is too small or too insignificant to be an act of worship. Whether you are at your job, doing chores at home, or volunteering in your community, your true boss is Christ Himself.

It’s easy to fall into a cycle of working for human approval, promotions, or recognition. We can become weary or resentful when our efforts seem to go unnoticed. But God sees your diligence, integrity, and effort, even when others don’t. This verse liberates us from the need to please people and, instead, invites us to serve with a sincere and joyful heart, knowing that our ultimate audience is the Lord.

This mindset is not about faking enthusiasm, but about finding genuine purpose in your work. It elevates mundane tasks to meaningful worship because they are an offering to God. This passage also reminds us that our true and lasting reward—the inheritance promised to believers—comes from the Lord Himself. This eternal perspective gives our daily efforts profound significance and helps us to work with excellence and integrity, regardless of our earthly circumstances.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder that all of my work can be an act of worship. Help me to do everything heartily, with a sincere and honest heart, as if I were doing it for You. Shift my focus away from seeking human approval and toward seeking Your honor and glory in all things. Strengthen me and give me a joyful spirit as I serve You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    1. Amen. I was just telling my daughter the people’s opinions can sometimes be the very thing that keeps you from your future. I’ve always believed that it is God who setups and puts down. Thank you so much for stopping by. But most of all thank you for that comment. Have a blessed new week!
