Synopsis: Hearts On Fire is a heartwarming 2013 made-for-TV romance movie, also known as Second Chances, that centers on a single mother and a firefighter brought together by an accident and her matchmaking children.
Jenny McLean (Alison Sweeney) is a single mother of two who works as a 911 dispatcher. She often flirts over the phone with a local firefighter she’s nicknamed “Cowboy” (Greg Vaughan), though they’ve never met in person. The story takes a turn when Jenny receives an emergency call that the firefighter, Jeff, has been injured in a fire.

Jenny is told by her supervisor that, due to budget cuts, he has to cut her hours. So to make ends meet, Jenny decides to rent a room in her home to Jeff while he recovers. In the meantime, to help raise money for their mom, the kids, Elsie, and Luke form a reading company and started charging a dollar to read stories at the nearby senior citizens’ home. They tell Jeff, who lets them hide their proceeds in his fireman’s boot, and advises them that they shouldn’t keep this a secret but tell their mom.
While all of this is going on, one of the things foremost in Jeff’s mind is how his father really perished in a house fire. His father was a fireman too.
The children are really taking to Jeff and try to stage situations to bring their mother and Jeff together. Their father abandoned them, and they are hoping for a new one.
Will the children get caught in their money-making scheme? Will Jenny and Jeff find each other amidst all of the different things going on in their lives? You will just have to watch the movie to find out.

We give Hearts of Fire
Although this film has a touch of predictability. The simple, feel-good plot is a major draw for those who enjoy predictable, uplifting romance films. The lead actors, Alison Sweeney and Greg Vaughan, share a sweet and genuine chemistry that makes their budding relationship believable and are relatable as they navigate real-life challenges like single parenting and physical recovery. The performance of veteran actor Ed Asner and the charming, natural interactions of the children add lightheartedness and depth. Overall, if you are a fan of Hallmark-style movies and are looking for a gentle, charming, and positive story about finding love when you least expect it. For family night this film is a solid choice.
