“No one is holy like the Lord,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.
(I Samuel 2:2 NKJV)

I SAMUEL 2:2 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Thought For The Week: This powerful declaration comes from Hannah’s prayer of praise after she has dedicated her long-awaited son, Samuel, to the Lord’s service in the temple. It’s a remarkable expression of faith, especially given she is giving up the very thing she prayed for. Hannah understood a profound truth: while circumstances in our lives constantly change, God’s nature is steadfast and secure.

In our own lives, we often build our security on shifting sands—our jobs, relationships, health, or financial stability. When these things inevitably waver or fall apart, our footing becomes insecure, and we feel lost or anxious. Hannah reminds us that the only true, firm, and solid foundation is God Himself. He is our “Rock” – a symbol of stability, protection, and strength that offers refuge amidst life’s storms.

When you feel overwhelmed by uncertainty, remember that God is the one constant in an unstable world. His holiness sets Him apart, and there is no other power or person besides Him who can offer the same unfailing strength and protection. Instead of seeking refuge in temporary fixes, run straight into His presence. Trusting in Him as our Rock provides unshakable peace and security, knowing that our foundation is firm when built on Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your unmatched holiness and unwavering nature. Thank You for being our Rock and our refuge. In a world full of change and uncertainty, help us to stand firm on Your solid foundation. Give us the wisdom to turn to You in our times of trouble, trusting in Your strength and guidance rather than our own understanding. We rest in the assurance that there is no one like You, our faithful and protective God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
