Almost There

Well, my dear readers and writers, I am trying to wrap up my latest project, for which I will not reveal the name. But let’s just say, going into this project with 4 books now under my belt, I thought since it was a compilation of my previous works, it would be much easier. But to my chagrin, boy did I underestimate this one.

When led by the Holy Spirit, ideas were coming like heavy rain. I placed them where they were supposed to go. The outline was easy, then the posts had to be categorized under certain themes, which are Encouragement, Faith, Food For Thought, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Holidays, Spiritual Warfare, and Final Thoughts. I thought I had a system for determining which posts would go into the book by the number of your likes. Which worked kinda sorta…hmm….

Then, last-minute posts were added, which called for adding, rearranging, and renumbering pages. As in a previous post, I set my books in Adobe Indesign which makes the creative process more expedient, but you also have to be more detail-oriented with the minor things like font sizes, justification of paragraphs, punctuation, and content fluidity.

On a positive note, I seem to be closing in on this book to finish. I developed the ending comments and the blurb. For those who are not familiar with this term, a book blurb is a short, persuasive marketing description, usually on the back cover or online product page, designed to entice readers by summarizing the plot, setting, and main conflict without spoilers. Often including praise or quotes to build interest and encourage a purchase. It acts as a sales pitch, highlighting key elements like characters and genre to make potential readers curious to know more.

Then all I’ll have left to do is my marketing strategies. Which is a whole other level of mountain climbing. But I think I’ve got enough tools in my backpack to make it to the top.

So, if anybody else is where I am right now, you’re almost to the summit, just keep climbing, you’ll be there before you know it—at least I’m hoping so. Keep pecking away at those darn keys. Consistency and determination will get you there. — Just don’t stop!

Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next week….Blessings and Peace!
