Compassion can cover so many things
With all the love and care it brings…
When someone less fortunate than us
Really needs compassion without a fuss
For the one who can barely make ends meet
That compassion makes them no longer feel obsolete
When we truly care, looking for nothing in return
There’s a lesson in it for all of us to learn
Are we our brother’s keeper? No need to contemplate
For in that contemplation we might just be too late…
To give hope where hopelessness seems to live
All because compassion we refused to give…
In a time when desperation cried out loud
And the one hurting questioned if he was God’s child
We should never shut up our bowels of compassion
It is not a good look in any fashion
For we must help others no matter where they stay
So they might meet Jesus along the way.
